Our proven cueing template, successfully used in our studios, will equip you with the tools to lead dynamic and engaging classes

Absolutely. Our highly regarded physical therapist, Tina Altwardt-Teng, leads our specialized course on common injuries and medical conditions, teaching you how to safely and effectively work with diverse populations in any class setting. With over 10 years of experience as a Pilates instructor—covering foundational 101 classes, neurological conditions, and injury rehabilitation—Tina is also available to support you with any questions that arise after certification.

During the course, we focus on the most common injuries and medical conditions encountered in our studios to provide practical, applicable knowledge. Additionally, an online anatomy class—offered for an extra $120—is required to give you a deeper understanding of the human body. You can also submit credit for any human anatomy college course you’ve completed. No prior anatomy experience is necessary to enroll.

Absolutely! Throughout the program, you’ll learn how to design and structure a variety of Reformer class styles. To support this, choreography sessions outside of your regular course dates are required—these are a vital part of your training and key to developing your teaching skills.

If you’re enrolled in our online program, you’ll be required to submit videos for all coursework that would normally be completed in person, including mini flows, auditions, and test-outs.

Your final teaching assessment can be completed either in person or remotely via Zoom, whichever works best for you.

Yes, you may retake the test one additional time at no extra cost. Any further attempts will require submitting a new test-out application and paying the $275 fee for each retake.

You will receive constructive feedback on your teaching from your very first course and throughout the entire certification process. This ongoing guidance helps identify areas for improvement and supports your growth into a confident, skilled instructor. If we notice little progress between courses, we’ll work with you to develop a plan to help you move forward and succeed.

Mat certification is the foundation of all our programs and a prerequisite for any equipment-based certification. Mat work is the core of Joseph Pilates’ original method and provides the essential principles needed to progress safely and effectively to the Reformer and other apparatus. Our Mat course covers both the classical exercises developed by Joseph Pilates and the modern variations commonly practiced today.

Pilates instructor insurance is required before you begin your student teaching hours. In the Modern Resources section of our manuals, you’ll find a list of recommended insurance providers that we and our instructors trust. Insurance coverage typically involves a minimal cost and is a mandatory requirement for all our studios and host sites.

Our course covers the complete classical series of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates, along with modern variations of each exercise. You’ll receive comprehensive training in both traditional and contemporary Pilates methods, allowing you to choose the style you prefer to teach—or blend them together to create a truly dynamic and personalized class.
